Welcome to Red Line Boats
A Holiday for All the Family
Awaiting you is more than just a leisurely cruise. Here is a voyage of exploration, where daily, you are presented with new surprises. The whole family will love it! There’s some thing for everyone and it will surely be a holiday to remember. With so much to do and plenty of room to move about, you’ll find there’s never a dull moment.
One of the reasons that people continue to holiday with us is because our boats are so easy to handle. This is due to their hull design, which is made to suit the special conditions and comparative shallowness of this old and beautiful canal. The fun and excitement of being in charge of your own boat and exploring unfamiliar waters is an adventure which appeals to both young and old alike, with the large after-deck providing room so that you can all have fun taking turns at being captain. The children will be constantly amused. No busy roads here to worry about, and buoyancy aids are available for them, so enabling you to relax even more as you enjoy the fresh air and delight in the slowly changing scenery. Perhaps just two of you want to go, then our boats are still easy to handle. And, as the gradient is only inches per mile, the towpath walks are easy for all ages.

Freedom to choose your type of holiday
The beauty of a cruising holiday is that the independence it gives means time is your own and you can go as you please. As you unwind into a gentler lifestyle, leaving your everyday cares behind you, you are free to choose when you travel, where to stay, what to wear, what and when to eat, what time to get up and what time to lay your head on the pillow. With few exceptions such as near locks and sharp bends, you can stop and moor where you like along the towpath. With such variety, you’ll be almost spoilt for choice with all those miles of free moorings.

You can choose how energetic your holiday shall be or whether you just simply want to put your feet up. Picnic in a field, lay in the sun, paddle in a stream, feed the ducks and swans, go ashore when you like, chat to new made friends, take a nap. Each morning you can awake refreshed, ready to greet a brand new day. Above all, take your time and relax. The journey from our base at Goytre to Brecon is a leisurely two-and-a-half day cruise, you will have plenty of time for pursuing a favourite pastime or exploring the countryside, towns and villages. The wildlife, flowers, avenues of trees, fields and hedgerows, working the locks, visiting friendly pubs and, not forgetting life aboard, combine to give you a holiday quite unlike any other.
So, have fun! And rediscover a naturalness so uncommon in this fast moving age.

Why not take a Short Break?
The Red Grouse and Red Hawk are organised as “Friday start” boats and are available for three night weekend breaks from Friday afternoon until Monday morning, or four night midweek breaks from Monday afternoon until Friday morning, or of course for week or ten day holidays.

All other boats are “Saturday start”. These are available for short breaks other than at peak holiday times. Three night breaks run from Saturday afternoon until Tuesday morning and four night breaks from Tuesday afternoon until Saturday morning.

Your holiday home
All our boats have been built within the last few years. The steel hull and superstructure is fully insulated and centrally heated. As can be seen from the photographs, the ample deck space enables all to enjoy cruising the waterway.

There are fitted carpets throughout and adequate storage space but it must be remembered however that although they are fitted out to a high standard and provide generous accommodation they can never be as spacious as your home. The boats are each powered by a modern, electric start diesel engine. Smooth running these engines are very easy to operate with forward and reverse on a single lever. Full control of the boat is achieved by tiller steering.

A look at the typical inventory listed below will give you a good idea of how even details as well as standard features have not been forgotten. Hot water is from a stored hot water tank, a full-size gas cooker, including grill and Oven, is fully complemented by modem galley equipment, a shower is there to keep you fresh throughout the day and cabin heating as well as a flushing toilet is standard. Each boat is cleaned, polished and serviced between each cruise. Freshly laundered sheets, Pillowcases and duvet covers are provided. The fuel tank is filled, Calor Gas supplied to last the whole of your holiday and the water tanks are replenished ready for you to embark. Conservation of this beautiful canal is always at the forefront of our minds and, when and where possible, we use environmentally friendly products.
